Thanks for visiting!

I'm originally from Georgia, and I moved to Washington state because I was sick of the heat and humidity. And now I live in Nara Prefecture, which is almost exactly like Georgia in the summer, except it's hotter and muggier. Luckily, I'm not here alone. I have my great partner, Saralyn (who took the photo above), and Margie, our mouthy tortoiseshell cat.

When I'm not trying to memorize Japanese vocabulary, I'm reading mysteries or science fiction, or I'm watching a movie of some kind. I really ought to be studying more Japanese, though.
